Getting to Panama
The excellent location of Panama, in the center of the Americas, contributes to a wide range of options to get there. You can reach Panama City from many North and South American cities in just a few hours. Additionally, a large number of airlines travel to Panama. Similarly, from Europe, Asia, and the rest of the continents, it is extremely easy to get to Panama.
The arrival airport would be Tocumen International in the city of Panama, Republic of Panama.
Transfers to and from the Tocumen International Airport and our partner hotels will be provided to all participants for a fee by the hotels. Participants are required to inform their hotel in advance of their flight number, date and time of arrival.
Participants having booked in hotels other than our partner hotels can easily take taxis at the airport. There are two types of taxis: SET (Especial Tourist Service) and regular taxis. SET taxis can be booked at the airport for a minimum fare of USD 35.00 and regular taxis for a minimum of USD 25.00.
Many hotels in Panama offer transportation from the airport to the hotel, but this must be organized directly with the hotel when making the reservation.

The US dollar is the standard currency in use in Panama.
The Balboa coinage
The official currency is the Balboa. However, in 1941 Panama stopped printing the Balboa to use the US dollar. Panama does still mint coins in the denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 which are the same metal, size and shape of the equivalent US coins. Since the Balboa has had a fixed exchange rate of 1:1 with the US dollar since 1903, these Balboa coins are used interchangeably with the US coins, so you may end up with Balboa coins during your stay in Panama.
